MLS stadiums called up for Copa América

Jorge Martinez

The start of the 2024 Copa América is now little more than a week away and teams are going through their final preparations. This week will see the last of the pre-tournament friendlies, while each team will be required to submit their final 26-man roster by Tuesday 12 June.

Likewise, for organisers this is now the last push and stadiums across the country are being prepared for the expanded 16-team tournament. The games will be held in 14 host stadiums across the United States, five of which are home to MLS teams.

Those teams are Charlotte FC (Bank of América Stadium), Sporting Kansas City (Children’s Mercy Park), Orlando City (Exploria Stadium), Atlanta United (Mercedes-Benz Stadium) and Austin FC (Q2 Stadium).

Where will Lionel Messi play in Copa América?

There is a chance that this summer’s Copa América will be the final international tournament graced by Lionel Messi’s presence. The Argentina captain turns 37 next month and has already admitted that he is unsure if he will make it to the 2026 World Cup in the US.
